Treating waste as a feedstock problem

Most manure management is disposal with a permit. NuVention Solutions is commercialising the opposite framing: the solids are a carbon feedstock, and the liquids are a nutrient resource that can be recovered rather than discharged.

Why the solids matter

Reformed under heat and pressure without oxygen, the organic fraction becomes bio-oil — a liquid carrier that can be formulated into resins industry already buys.

Why the liquids matter

Phosphorus and nitrogen stay dissolved. An algae loop takes them up, dropping phosphorus from over 3,000 mg/L to below 0.05 mg/L and producing biomass with its own value.

Why both together matter

Handling one fraction only moves the problem. Handling both is what makes the system an affordable option for a farm rather than an additional cost.

    The company begins selling BR2-derived products for asphalt, roofing and agricultural coating applications.

    Algae treatment developed

    An algae-based process for the liquid fraction is taken forward to remove nitrogen and phosphorus left after the solids are processed.
